Linda Ann Lopez
Encaustic and Mixed Media Painting Expressionist
Linda Ann Lopez
Professional Artist

Linda Ann Lopez realized the one thing in life that brings her the most passion is art. No matter the medium, or the tool she uses to express her vision. She shares her love of nature and the world around her through her lens, studio and heart.

Originally from New York, Linda has lived in Lake Mary and Sanford Florida for 30 years. Linda enjoys sharing her travels and love of Florida in her art. Over the many years she has practiced art she has used many types of media such as acrylic, pastel, pencil, oil, silk and photography. Linda originally started taking photos as reference for her paintings. Then photography became an obsession. She briefly stopped painting to learn the world of photography and purchased her first DSLR camera. A friend told Linda about a local art class that incorporated Photos with Encaustic. In addition to using other media she can now add her photos as embed images, photo transfers and photos printed on rice paper with her Encaustic pieces. Expressing her vision with melted beeswax and her photography now brings her a sense of peacefulness and purpose.

Normally a realist when painting, this new form of art has awakened her creativity and allowed her artistic freedom.

Linda is a member of the International Encaustic Artist group and the local Florida Wax Chapter. Linda's Encaustic art was recognized as People’s Choice in a local Encaustic show. “Learning art whether it be photography or painting is ongoing for me, I see art everywhere. I always look at lights, darks, shapes and texture in the world around me. I see things others don’t, and I want to share what I experience visually in the world around me”.

Narrative:
Dragon flies are my favorite insect. A dragonfly symbolizes change and the perspective of self realization. This piece was done at a time I felt I had lost control of what was important to me, hence the name Broken Pieces.
